Project Description

A DC Microgrid is a small-scale power grid that incorporates sources, loads, energy storage, and a hierarchical control system that regulates its safe and reliable operation. It enables the integration of renewable energy sources such as wind turbines. At JSEC, we are building a lab-scale DC Microgrid as a testbed to investigate several areas of research. This specific project aims at developing a Wind Turbine distributed energy resource for this DC Microgrid to investigate its dynamics and validate our centralized hierarchical control technique in reliably integrating it within the grid.
